Wiffens have been part of the Fyshwick Fresh Food Markets – the original Farmer’s Market – since inception, approximately 50 years ago. The original owner, Mr Wiffen, grew oranges in Griffith NSW, selling them here, at Fyshwick. Early in the Markets history the Giugni family purchased and operated the business until 2007 when the present owners, Jack and Barbara Irvine, purchased the business.

Jack has been involved with fresh produce for nearly 50 years. He helped his father from age 10, collect fruit and vegetables direct from farmers and travelled around the local area selling the produce off the back of a truck. This started his long association with fresh produce, including as an orchardist, growing apples and pears at Pialligo.

Son David now helps run the businesses with Barbara who is primarily responsible for sourcing Wiffens unique and expanding range of grocery, cheese and dairy products.
