Molucca balm’s botanical name is Molucella it is also known as Bells of Ireland and Shellflower. A member of the mint family in the language of flowers it represents luck.  Molucella is very distinctive, small white flowers are surrounded by pale green to olive inverted bells running up to 30cms around the hollow stem.

Selection and Storage

Choose bunches with open green bells with white pollen visible on the flower. Cut 2cm off the stem and place in cold water with a preservative, which well help the flowers open and stay open. Replace preservative daily. Molucella works well in an arrangement with a variety of other flowers adding a soft green element and  interesting textures and shapes.
