Gardenias signify secret love purity and refinement. They flourish in warmer, humid climates like Sydney but don’t take well to cold and dry Canberra conditions. So if we want to smell this beautiful flower buying it cut is the only option!

Selection and Care

These white flowers with green foliage have a wonderful fragrance that despite their small size permeates a room. Choose flowers that look healthy and white. Gardenia flowers come in short lengths so float in a bowl or place in a very short vase. Don’t touch the flower as it will mark. Add a flower preservative to the water to lengthen life. If using as a wedding flower in buttonholes or a bouquet refrigerate until ready to use.
