Nectarines

Nectarines are a variety of peach with a firmer flesh, skin without the downy quality of peaches and a distinct flavour. Darwin noted how peach trees occasionally spontaneously produced nectarines and vice versa. Many types of nectarines are grown in Australia but commercially the only distinction is between yellow and white.
