Local varieties of oil include: La Barre (Cowra grown) – popular quality oil ranging from straight EVO oil to flavour infused including: Rosemary & Garlic, Chilli & Garlic, Orange or Lemon. Available in 500ml bottles and the straight Oil is available in 500ml and 4lt tins. La Barre also make a Classic French Dressing which is ‘a classic’! Very good quality. Fedra Oil (500ml) is grown just out of Canberra at Fedra Olive Estate. Bronze Medal winner 2010: Australian Olive Association and Silver winner at Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards 2010. Also available are Fedra Olives: Green, Kalamata or Mixed in jars. For those interested in the Australian bush flavours coming into the kitchen, try Oz Tukka Macadamia Oil, or the same oil infused with Wild Pepper or Lemon Myrtle and Ginger. Uses: marinades, stir fries, pesto, general baking or splash over a salad for a delicious change.
